GTA III Website.

The Harwood Autocrusher and Junkyard is a junkyard located in Harwood, Portland, Liberty City in the 3D Universe that also has a vehicle crusher.

Description[]

The Harwood Autocrusher and Junkyard is used during various missions, for example, the "Trash Dash" mission in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, the "Twisted Metal" mission in Grand Theft Auto Advance and the "Dead Skunk in the Trunk" mission in Grand Theft Auto III. Joseph Daniel O'Toole is killed by Mickey Hamfists at the Autocrusher and Junkyard, and the remains of Vinnie and the remains of a leading Forelli Crime Family gang member are put into the autocrusher.

If the players deliver a vehicle which contains people into the crusher, they will be lifted up and crushed with the vehicle.

Trivia[]

  • If the player somehow finds a way to actually see the space where the cars get crushed it will reveal that the car doesn't get crushed, but is despawned by the game. Blue Hell can be seen inside the space.
  • Due to a possible coding error in Grand Theft Auto III, the Blista could not be lifted into the crusher whereas a large vehicle such as the Coach could. This is fixed in GTA Liberty City Stories.
  • Grand Theft Auto III was originally going to have a unique Wasted text when being crushed inside the car by the car crusher, according to the unused text in the game's files.[1]
  • In Grand Theft Auto III and the mobile version of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, the sign at the entrance has been vandalized with "Harwood" now reading as "Hardwood" and "Junkyard" as "Junky".
    • "Hardwood" is euphemism for an erect penis while "Junky" is slang for a drug addict.
