The introduction to Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories are opening cutscenes that begins when a new game is started. Because it consists of only cutscenes, the player has no interactivity except to skip to Home Sweet Home, the game's first mission, straight away.

Cut scene

The cut scene begins with a coach pulling up to Punk Noodles in Chinatown on Portland Island, Liberty City. The protagonist, Toni Cipriani, gets off with a suitcase in hand. Toni walks to a payphone and calls a taxi, which takes him to Salvatore Leone's Gentleman's Club in Saint Marks. Toni meets with Salvatore, the Don of the Leone Family, who thanks him for what he did and for laying low. Salvatore tells Toni to take it easy and to work for Vincenzo Cilli. Toni is reluctant to take orders from Vincenzo and disagrees with Salvatore. Salvatore persuades Toni to work for Vincenzo, who then tells Toni to drive him to his warehouse in Atlantic Quays.

Reward

There is no monetary reward for the introduction. The ending of the cutscene unlocks the first mission of GTA Liberty City Stories, Home Sweet Home.

Trivia

• This is the first opening cutscene or mission not to introduce the antagonist, followed by the opening missions of GTA IV and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
• The music that plays while Toni gets in the taxi is a remix of the GTA III theme.
• There is no driver in the taxi that Toni catches.
• Toni's casual clothes look a lot like Claude's clothes in GTA III
