+ | The Jugular is a car appearing in the first Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto Online, and due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. It is manufactured by Jugular in the 2D Universe and Ocelot in the HD Universe. |

+ | The car returns to GTA Online as a 4-door saloon. It was added as part of the continuation of The Diamond Casino & Resort update, released on October 10, 2019, during the Jugular Week event. |

+ | ==Influence== |
||
+ | ===2D Universe=== |
||
+ | In Grand Theft Auto, the Jugular has striking resemblance to the Mercedes-Benz 300SL, given the overall shape and the roof panels, hinting an apparent use of gull-wing doors. |
||
+ | |||
+ | ===HD Universe=== |
||
+ | Returning to Grand Theft Auto Online, the Jugular assumes a totally different design, based on the Jaguar XE. The headlights are similar to the BMW 8 Series, while the front bumper is taken from the Mercedes-AMG GT#Mercedes-AMG GT R (2017–present). |
||
+ | |||
+ | ==Design== |
||
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto=== |
||
+ | Jugulars are seen in a variety of single colours for the body. It can be characterized by its distinct headlight housing and rounded rear end. |
||
+ | |||
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto Online=== |
||
+ | The Jugular is depicted as a sports saloon with various modifications around the body, where the front fascia features a carbon-fibre extender/splitter at the bottom that spans the entire car's width, while a trapezium-shaped section with an horizontal separation can be seen just above it. The middle section is predominated by large intakes with a mesh pattern, where the central one is separated by a black separation, while two curved separations define the outer intakes, which are painted. The upper area is occupied by the central mesh grille bearing the manufacturer emblem on the front, as well as the headlamp units on the outer sides, which consist of dual main lamps, outer turn signals and moder light strips around. The bonnet has elevated areas that start from the upper corners of the grille and lead towards the cabin pillars, along with an impressed area that houses a front intake duct and a trapezium-shaped formation near the windscreen. Said bonnet also opens to reveal the engine bay partially covered by black sections. |
||
+ | |||
+ | The sides of the car are fitted with bolt-on extensions on the fender arches, which leave the wheels slightly exposed on the back section, as well as carbon-fibre details over the front exit vents and large side skirts at the bottom. The sides also have inset formations created by the front exit vents, which is more prominent around the front and become flatter as they approach to the rear section. On the greenhouse area, the car has black trim around the windows and beside the roof panel, together with black inner pillars and mirror shells mounted on the A-pillars. |
||
+ | |||
+ | The rear of the car makes use of a lip spoiler on the upper side of the boot, while the rear end bears the corresponding manufacturer badging and license plate. The outer sides have large tail lamp units, consisting of large red lamps with smaller turn/reverse lamps within the red units. On the bumper area, the car has ridged formations on the outer sides conforming the rear exit vents, as well as a black section covering the lower rear and part of the underside, housing five diffuser blades and two square-shaped exhausts. A carbon-fibre spoiler is mounted on top of the boot lid. |
||
+ | |||
+ | The car uses a dedicated "Jugular" interior, which is essentially a derivative of the one found on cars like the Nero, the XA-21 and the Revolter. However, the rear seats are similar to cars like the Schafter, the Tailgater and the Super Diamond, and the analog dials are borrowed from the Raiden. The Ocelot emblem can be seen on the horn cap. |
||
+ | |||
+ | The car is painted with a primary colour for the bodywork, the outer portion of the rims and the interior stitching, as well as a secondary colour for the front horizontal separation and the roof panel. A trim colour is also available for the interior, being applied to the dashboard, horn cap, part of the doors and the seats. Its rims are similar to the "Rally Master" tuner rims seen in Los Santos Customs, but appear to be slightly larger in diameter and are wrapped in low-profile tyres. |

+ | ==Performance== |
||
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto=== |
||
+ | It has a good top speed and handling, but has low durability. |
||
+ | |||
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto Online=== |
||
+ | The Jugular possess average performance, but makes up for its traction and all wheel drive layout, allowing it to accelerate quicker and drive efficiently over uneven roads and moderately steep hills. While its handling is average, the car tends to understeer at even medium speeds, requiring effective use of the brakes to take corners appropriately. Top speed and braking remains decent compared to sports sedans like the Jackal and the Kuruma. |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Jugular has one (the eleventh) Advanced Flag enabled. The purpose of this flag is unknown, but it appears to have little impact on performance. |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Jugular is powered by a V8 engine (suggested by its cover), coupled to a 8-speed gearbox in a F4 layout (30% front, 70% rear). Its engine sound is similar to that of the XA-21, and the exhaust may also crackle after letting off the gas at high revs. |

||
+ | *Statistically, the Jugular has 8 gears by default<ref>File Data:<br><pre> |

As it reaches top (ninth) gear, it loses the ability to downshift itself. Therefore, unless the player manually enters reverse, they are likely going to have trouble accelerating on the next start. This also applies to the Toros, Brutus, Paragon R, and the Novak. |

Grand Theft Auto Online
The car returns to GTA Online as a 4-door saloon. It was added as part of the continuation of The Diamond Casino & Resort update, released on October 10, 2019, during the Jugular Week event.
Grand Theft Auto VI
The car can be seen parked on the opposite side of the road along the Ocean Drive-inspired road in Vice Beach, in the first trailer (0:31).
Influence
2D Universe
In Grand Theft Auto, the Jugular has striking resemblance to the Mercedes-Benz 300SL, given the overall shape and the roof panels, hinting an apparent use of gull-wing doors.
HD Universe
Returning to Grand Theft Auto Online, the Jugular assumes a totally different design, based on the Jaguar XE SV Project 8. The headlights are similar to the 2nd gen BMW 8 Series, while the front bumper is taken from the Mercedes AMG GT R.
Design
Grand Theft Auto
Jugulars are seen in a variety of single colours for the body. It can be characterized by its distinct headlight housing and rounded rear end.
Grand Theft Auto Online
The Jugular is depicted as a sports saloon with various modifications around the body, where the front fascia features a carbon-fibre extender/splitter at the bottom that spans the entire car's width, while a trapezium-shaped section with an horizontal separation can be seen just above it.
The sides of the car are fitted with bolt-on extensions on the fender arches, which leave the wheels slightly exposed on the back section, as well as carbon-fibre details over the front exit vents and large side skirts at the bottom. The sides also have inset formations created by the front exit vents, which is more prominent around the front and become flatter as they approach to the rear section. On the greenhouse area, the car has black trim around the windows and beside the roof panel, together with black inner pillars and mirror shells mounted on the A-pillars.
The rear of the car makes use of a lip spoiler on the upper side of the boot, while the rear end bears the corresponding manufacturer badging and license plate.
The car uses a dedicated "Jugular" interior, which is essentially a derivative of the one found on cars like the Nero, the XA-21 and the Revolter. However, the rear seats are similar to cars like the Schafter, the Tailgater and the Super Diamond, and the analog dials are borrowed from the Raiden. The Ocelot emblem can be seen on the horn cap.
The car is painted with a primary colour for the bodywork, the outer portion of the rims and the interior stitching, as well as a secondary colour for the front horizontal separation and the roof panel.

Performance
Grand Theft Auto
It has a good top speed and handling, but has low durability.
Grand Theft Auto Online
The Jugular possess average performance, but makes up for its traction and all wheel drive layout, allowing it to accelerate quicker and drive efficiently over uneven roads and moderately steep hills. While its handling is average, the car tends to understeer at even medium speeds, requiring effective use of the brakes to take corners appropriately. Top speed and braking remains decent compared to sports sedans like the Jackal and the Kuruma.
The Jugular has one (the eleventh) Advanced Flag enabled.[1] The purpose of this flag is unknown, but it appears to have little impact on performance.
The Jugular is powered by a V8 engine (suggested by its cover), coupled to a 8-speed gearbox in a F4 layout (30% front, 70% rear). Its engine sound is similar to that of the XA-21, and the exhaust may also crackle after letting off the gas at high revs.

Trivia
Grand Theft Auto
- The Jugular is one of three vehicles in the Grand Theft Auto series with known manufacturers to be named after its manufacturer, the other two being the Kraken Kraken and the Willard Willard.
Grand Theft Auto Online
- Despite the Jugular not being an electric vehicle, its dials are borrowed from the Raiden, even retaining the "Kw" dial in place of a dedicated tachometer, causing it to read incorrectly.
- The Jugular badges on the official advertisement uses the Friz Quadrata typeface by ITC.
Bugs/Glitches
Grand Theft Auto Online
- Statistically, the Jugular has 8 gears by default[4]. This causes problems when one upgrades the car's transmission, which adds one extra gear. As it reaches top (ninth) gear, it loses the ability to downshift itself. Therefore, unless the player manually enters reverse, they are likely going to have trouble accelerating on the next start. This also applies to the Toros, Brutus, Paragon R, and the Novak.
- The Jugular cannot be taken through a car wash.
