Mike arrives at 8-Ball's safehouse[1] in Pike Creek and finds a group of dead Colombian Cartel gangsters outside. He enters a nearby restaurant where he finds 8-Ball. Shortly after, they are ambushed by the Colombian Cartel and their new leader, who believes that Mike killed their former leader, Cisco. Mike manages to kill many Cartel members, eventually forcing them to retreat, although 8-Ball is injured, claiming to have broken his legs and to have been "burned real bad". Mike flees the scene, leaving the stricken 8-Ball to be arrested by the Liberty City Police Department. Mike manages to get his car re-sprayed at a Pay 'n' Spray and remembers his fallen friends, all of whom are at this point dead or in prison.
Aftermath[]
According to a Liberty Treenewspaper article, after Mike left 8-Ball injured at his safehouse, the LCPD raided his home. In a short struggle, 8-Ball's hands were badly damaged when a cop accidentally poured hot fat on them. He was also convicted of 85 charges of owning a gun without a license.
Listen, man. I'm sorry I couldn't warn you about Vinnie sooner but I've been on the run soon after Vinnie's bombing. I just found out myself from the goons Vinnie sent to take me out. You may have seen them on your way in.
Yeah, I saw the dead bodies out front. It's good to see you, 8-Ball. I'm glad they weren't able to take you down.
8-Ball:
You too, man. But this isn't over yet, I think there'll be more people gunnin' for you. The word's out that you took down Vinnie and that you've got his money.
Mike:
But Vinnie squandered most of it! I only got a hundred g's - not worth turning these streets into a blood bath!
8-Ball:
It doesn't matter what the facts are, it's what people believe, man. Now you're on top of their list, and gangs like the Cartel, and the... what the hell's that noise?
You're going to pay for killing Cisco! He treated you like a son and had high hopes of educating you in fashion sense and the merits of giving driver licenses to illegals! This is how you repay him?
Mike:
It wasn't me! When I came back to the scene, he was already dead.
Cartel Boss:
I don't believe you and neither do my men. Prepare to die!
Mike:
Damn it! 8-Ball is down. I can't let these bastards get him...
After surviving the first wave of gangsters.
Mike:
Hmmm, this doesn't look good...
After surviving the second wave of gangsters.
Mike:
Damn, here comes another group of Cartel thugs.
After surviving the third wave of gangsters.
Mike:
Damn, I didn't realize Cisco had so many working for him...
After surviving the last wave of gangsters.
Mike:
8-Ball! The Cartel has pulled back. Let's get out of here! The cops will be here any second.
8-Ball:
Naw, man. I can't move. My legs are busted and I'm burned real bad. You go on without me.
Mike:
I'll make it up to you someday, 8-Ball. I promise!
Mike leaves the restaurant.
Mike:
The cops are on to me since I just took out half of the cartel gang. I'd better lose them.
After losing the wanted level.
Mike:
Damn, the cops got 8-Ball. All my friends are either dead or in jail. They think I'm easy pickings because I'm only one man. I'm tired of running and getting ambushed by unknown assailants. I'm going on the offense. It's time to bring the heat to them.
