For the Triads group, see San Fierro Triads

Straight to the facts; I can't use your help unless I'm open with you about who I am and what I do. Let me re-introduce myself... I am the boss of the Mountain Cloud Boys.

Mountain Cloud Boys is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas given to protagonist Carl Johnson by the Mountain Cloud Boys Triad boss Wu Zi Mu from his apartment in Chinatown, San Fierro, San Andreas.

Mission[]

Carl arrives at Woozie's apartment and is led upstairs by Guppy, a Triad, who informs Carl that Woozie is actually blind and blessed with unbelievable good fortune. Woozie "reintroduces" himself to Carl and says that he needs to meet a Triad who missed a meeting last time. Carl and Woozie drive over to the warehouse where the missing Triad is found. Upon arriving, Woozie becomes suspicious when he discovers the gate to the courtyard is open, as it is usually locked. They walk further and Woozie bumps into the body of a dead Triad, with several burning vehicles around him. The door to a garage opens and the Triad inside informs Woozie that the Da Nang Boys have wiped out the Blood Feather Triads, just as more of them arrive at the alleyway. Carl helps Woozie kill the Da Nang Boys and after finishing everyone off, they escape in a Sentinel while two more Da Nang gang cars arrive and start attacking them. Woozie destroys both the cars and Carl drives him back to his apartment.

Mission Objectives[]

In order to complete the mission the player must:

  • Take Woozie to the Tong meeting.
  • Stick close to Woozie.
  • Get out of the alleyway and protect Woozie from the attacking gang!
  • Let Woozie destroy the attacking cars.
  • Drive Woozie back to his place.

Reward[]

Completing this mission rewards the player with $5,000 and increased respect. The mission Ran Fa Li is unlocked.

Transcript[]

Transcript
Carl arrives at Woozie's apartment to meet him. He encounters a Triad working as a cashier.
Triad Member: We're closed! Pokgai!
CJ: Easy, man, I'm here to see Woozie.
Triad Member: Oh. Upstairs.
CJ: (whispering) Stupid ass motherfucker...
CJ makes his way upstairs, but encounters another Triad.
CJ: I'm Johnson. I'm here to see Woozie, I work with him.
Guppy: Yes, right this way. (CJ proceeds, but is stopped again) You know of the boss's curse?
CJ: Curse? Nah.
Guppy: He's blind.
CJ: Blind? But we was just racing cars last week!
Guppy: Yes, I know. He is blessed with unbelievable good fortune. And the Triad that would do anything for him. We call him our Lucky Mole.
CJ: A'ight. I'll keep that in mind.
Guppy: Good.
CJ finally meets Woozie in his room.
CJ: Woozie!
Woozie: Hello, Carl.
CJ: Hey, what's happening, Woozie - y'know, how you doin'?
Woozie: Straight to the facts; I can't use your help unless I'm open with you about who I am and what I do. Let me re-introduce myself... I am the boss of the Mountain Cloud Boys.
CJ: Nice to meet you.
Woozie: Likewise. Why don't you sit down.
CJ and Woozie sit down on a couch.
Woozie: As Dai Dai Lo of the Triad, it is my responsibility to see that disputes are settled without... damaging important business.
CJ: Where I come in at?
Woozie: We shall see. I'm about to drop in on a local Triad that failed to show face at the last Tong meeting. Come with me, and you'll see how we Triads settle things without recourse to... unnecessary violence.
CJ: A'ight, I'll ride with you.
CJ and Woozie go outside.
Woozie: We'll need a ride, mine's getting some bodywork done to it.
CJ: Alright, don't trip.
CJ and Woozie head to the meeting.
Woozie: The Blood Feather Triad have a storehouse around the block. We shall see what excuses they have to offer.
CJ: OK. So what's all this talk of business?
Woozie: Some small time Vietnamese gangs have been making trouble lately. We're not sure why they're gaining any courage now, but I'm nervous about the situation.
CJ: How do I fit in all of this?
Woozie: You're an outsider.
CJ and Woozie arrive at the storehouse behind the latter's apartment.
Woozie: This is the place! Come on, it's this way. Now... where's that loose cobble?
Woozie stops to look for a cobble.
CJ: Hey, what the hell you doin'?
Woozie: Just, errr, checking the, um, y'know. Shut up, Carl... THIS WAY!
The two enter the alleyway and find people running away.
CJ: Hey, what's with all these people? Where they going?
Woozie: Something isn't right here. We should be careful... Follow me.
Woozie accidentally runs into a brick wall.
CJ: What's wrong? You lost? Need a hand?
Woozie: NO! No, I was just, you know, getting the feel of the place. Stick close!
The two arrive at the warehouse.
Woozie: Ah, we're here! This way!
Woozie finds the gate which is open.
Woozie: Strange, this gate is usually locked. Stick close!
CJ and Woozie enter the warehouse.
CJ: Oh man, Woozie...
Woozie: What's got you so spooked?
Woozie trips over a dead Triad member.
Woozie: Oh, oh sorry, didn't see you lying down there.
CJ: He's dead. They all are.
Woozie: The Blood Feathers, wiped out?
A garage door opens and a surviving Triad is inside the garage.
Triad Member: Dai Dai Lo! Forgive me, I was too scared to fight, so I hid.
Woozie: Enough! What happened here?
Triad Member: Vietnamese surprised us, cut us all down. Shit, here they come again!
The surviving Triad member hides in the garage while Da Nang Boys arrive in a car and start a war.
Woozie: The Triads must have vengeance! (finds a Da Nang Boy holding a sniper) Hell's sewers, that was a sniper bullet! CJ, take out that sniper!
CJ kills all the Da Nang Boys.
CJ: In the car, quick!
As CJ and Woozie get in the car, more Da Nang Boys arrive in cars.
CJ: We got more company!
CJ backs the car off the alley.
Woozie: You drive, I'll send them back to the sewers! Keep driving, I'll take care of these murderous scum!
Woozie destroys both Da Nang Boys' cars, killing all of them.
CJ: That look like the last of 'em!
Woozie: Thank you, Carl, you saved me from having to kill them all myself. OK, let's get back to my place.
Both arrive back at Woozie's apartment.
Woozie: Here, a token of the Tong's appreciation for what you did today.

Bugs/Glitches[]

  • On the PC version of the game, a glitch may occur in this mission if the player is not using the frame limiter. When Carl and Woozie arrive at the warehouse, both exit the car, but Carl will not move. This can be fixed by reloading a previous save and turning on the frame limiter before starting the mission. Alternatively, the glitch can be avoided if the player stops and exits the car before reaching the red circle and then simply walks into it.
  • Near the end of the mission, it is possible for Woozie to get killed while driving. If that happens, he will just sit there and not fall out of the car. It is even possible to start the mission again and see two Woozies on the screen at once, one dead and one alive. If the player gets into the car, Woozie pulls his dead self out and gets in, prompting the dead one to disappear.
  • After the cutscene, Woozie may get in a random pedestrian's vehicle instead of Carl's, which will cause the game to say "You left Woozie behind." To fix this, the player needs to ram the car to make Woozie get in Carl's vehicle.

Trivia[]

  • In the first cutscene, the three men watching the horse race is a reference to some scenes in the television show The Sopranos, primarily the episode "Pie-O-My". The man in the leather jacket is visually based on the show's protagonist, Tony Soprano.
  • The Sentinel can take many bullets before being destroyed.
  • When Carl enters Woozie's apartment, a triad says "We're closed! Pokgai!". "Pokgai" is actually a Cantonese swear word, which means "to fall and die in the street".
  • This mission marks the appearance of two peds: cswmori and cspunter1.
