Carl arrives at Sweet's house, where Sweet, Smoke and Ryder are seen playing dominoes. Carl asks what type of guns Grove Street Families has at the moment. Ryder tells Carl about the police raiding Grove Street, leaving them with very little firepower. Carl asks what happened to Emmet. Smoke replies by saying that Emmet is a member of the Seville Boulevard Families, who are not so close with Grove Street anymore but still agrees to take Carl to see him. Carl and Smoke get into Smoke's car and make their way to Emmet's in Willowfield.
On the way, Smoke tells Carl about Seville, Temple Drive Families, and Grove Street Families not getting along. Smoke then tells Carl that he is a leader and to remember him when he gets to the top. They arrive at Emmet's place, where they find him fiddling with a Desert Eagle, which accidentally misfired, spooking Emmet and thinking that someone was shooting at him. He sees Carl and Smoke but does not recognise him at first. Emmet thinks that Carl is Brian, his dead brother, but realises that he is in fact Carl, and gives his condolences to Carl about his mother. Smoke tells Emmet that they want to get the people who did it, and in return, Emmet offers to give them some shooting practice.
Smoke demonstrates how to shoot glass bottles, as Carl does the same thing. Carl is also taught how to aim at a car's gas tank to instantly destroy it, which Carl puts to good use, practicing the technique on a Tampa. Afterwards, Emmet praises Carl's shooting skills, as Carl and Smoke leave. Carl then drives Smoke back to his house in Idlewood.
After dropping Smoke off, Carl gets a call from Sweet. Sweet tells Carl to go check out the Binco clothing store just up the road from Grove Street and get himself some Grove colors. Carl goes to the clothing store and buys some green clothing to wear, and then leaves.
In order to complete the mission the player must:
Go with Smoke to Emmet's house.
Shoot the bottle.
Shoot the bottles.
Try shooting the bottles while crouching.
Use manual aim to shoot the car's gas tank.
Drive Smoke home.
Get over to Binco and get yourself some Grove Street colors.
Go inside the Binco clothes shop.
Walk into the marker to try on some new threads.
Buy some new clothes.
Leave the store.
The reward for this mission is an increase in respect. The mission Drive-By is unlocked. A pistol now always spawns at Emmet's (the location is noted a similar symbol to the one used to denote Ammu-Nation stores); this is the only weapon made available by Emmet and will be quickly superseded as the player discovers other weapon spawn locations, and the Ammu-Nation stores across San Andreas. In addition, Carl can use the Binco, ProLaps, and Sub Urban clothing stores.
That's why we're here sir. We wanna get the people who did it.
Well, you come to the right place. Try anything you like boy.
Man, look at this old shit.
CJ and Big Smoke take part in a shooting range activity in which they have to shoot glass bottles. After that, CJ shoots the gas tank of a car, causing it to explode. They then return to Big Smoke's Home.
Thanks CJ, I'll see you around.
(Phone rings} I thought you was representing? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you was rolling with Grove Street again?
I already told you I am.
Well I ain't seen any colors yet. You gotta fly the flag man. Ain't nobody gonna respect you if you don't look like the hood.
Alright man, my bad, I just ain't got around to it yet.
GTA San Andreas - iPad Walkthrough - Mission 6 - Nines and AK's (HD)
During the first cutscene, the song playing in Sweet's house is "Fuck Wit' Dre Day" by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. This song can also be heard on Radio Los Santos.
In the PC version of the game, even if the controls are set to "Mouse + Keys" (standard controls configuration), which doesn't have an auto-aim feature, the instructions given to shoot the bottles still displays controls only used for auto-aiming.
After receiving the phone call from Sweet, instructing CJ to go to Binco and purchase some new clothes, there is no real need to buy anything. Just walking in and out of the changing room and then outside the shop again will complete the mission.
In the cutscene where CJ and Big Smoke meet Emmet, Emmet is seen wearing a red shirt under his green jacket, but in gameplay his shirt is white.
When Emmet fires his Desert Eagle, it uses a more realistic special shooting effect. The effect is later shown again in the mission "The End of the Line."
Despite the mission's name "Nines and AKs", there are no AK-47s used or even seen in the mission, although it is mentioned by Sweet.
CJ is free to destroy the bottles any way he pleases. If the player punches the bottles and is left standing between Big Smoke and a fresh batch of bottles, he'll be teleported back to his shooting position just behind Smoke.
If the player punches Emmet, he will attempt to fight back.
If the player attacks Big Smoke, he will shoot Carl with his pistol.
If a vehicle is in front of the bottles and Big Smoke doesn't destroy them, the mission still continues.
