PotatoTruck-GTAL61

A Potato Truck as depicted in GTA London 1961.

The Potato Truck is a "lorry" in Grand Theft Auto: London 1961.

Description

The Potato Truck, is, as implied, a lorry used to transporting potatoes; the vehicle is illustrated as a large open bed lorry containing said load. The lorry is evidently similar in cab design as the Tanker in London 1969, as well as the Lewd Lorry in London 1961. While vague in indicating its real-life inspiration, the lorry is presumably based on a 1950s or 1960s British model.

As expected for a vehicle of this design, the Potato Truck's performance is poor, with one of the highest vehicle weights in the game, poor top speed, grip and handling, and average acceleration and braking. Although game files reveal it possesses a good base export value of £1,000, the lorry cannot be exported due to its size.

The Potato Truck is prominently featuring during a mission string triggered after entering a Jug Swinger upon completion of the fourth payphone mission string, culminating to a gunbattle at a warehouse area in Southwark West with four Potato Truck; the player is required to steal one of the lorries and deliver it to a garage in East Bermondsey.
