Pure Lube is a lubricant and penetrating oil company and product featured in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Description[]
In Grand Theft Auto IV, there is a Pure Lube plant building in Beechwood City. The plant appears mostly worn down and abandoned featuring trash and wrecked cars around the entrance. The building also has a large pipe going to the ocean suggesting Pure Lube Corp is not a environmentally friendly company dumping their waste in the sea.
Pure Lube appears at several locations in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online seen as a sponsor for several racing teams and seen advertised on walls in San Andreas.
Influence[]
The company appears to have been around for a long time, most likely since the 1950s, as a lot of posters and advertisements for Pure Lube appear worn and rusty. The company is still seen operating today with the same logo seen on modern race car liveries as a sponsor. This could mean the company and product is based on the WD-40 Company and their WD-40 products respectively, as WD-40 has used the same logo since the 50s, and the connection is made stronger by the similar colour schemes.
The Company's name and logo is very likely based on Pure Oil as it shares very similar logos and names, though Pure Lube doesn't appear to be a petroleum company so this might be where the resemblance ends.
