The Remote Grenade is a weapon found in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is also known as the Detonator Grenade in GTA Vice City. The weapon is a normal grenade but detonation is not with a timer but with a remote Detonator.
Locations
GTA Vice City
- Little Haiti - Available at Phil's Place once "Boomshine Saigon" is finished.
- Washington Beach - Behind a hotel by where the mission Jury Fury takes place.
GTA Liberty City Stories
- Cedar Grove, Shoreside Vale - In the garden inside the pool of a mansion.
- Cochrane Dam, Shoreside Vale - Spawns on the higher level of the base where the end of "The Exchange" in GTA III takes place.
GTA Vice City Stories
- Vice Point - Behind the Ducum Inn hotel on the pool.
Glitches
- On GTA Vice City, upon passing through the metal detectors at Escobar International Airport or Leaf Links, the remote grenades will be replaced with regular grenades at the entrance.
- Upon 100% completion of GTA Vice City on the original PlayStation 2 release, throwing a remote grenade will make the Detonator remain in the inventory due to the infinite ammo reward. To remove the Detonator, the player would need to buy other weapons, die, get arrested or go through a metal detector (as above). This has been fixed in later versions.
