Sammy Starock comes from the School of Hard Knocks!
Rockstar Radio is a radio station in Grand Theft Auto 2 only available in the Downtown District and hosted by Sammy Starock.
Description[]
The station plays rock and funk and occasionally features on-air phone calls and letters from the listeners. There are three phone calls in the original PC version of the game. The first being from Starock's Mother, the second being a somebody from the "spiritual world" rambling about masturbation, and the third being a performance artist. In the PlayStation version of the game, the call about "spiritual masturbation" was cut and replaced with advertisements for Flipper Dolphin and Silky Milky, likely as a way to censor the caller's in-depth description of masturbation.
The radio has an all-around "bad boy" attitude. The DJ makes controversial comments purely for shock value, like stating that he's "the worst racist there is".
According to the host, Sammy Starock, the station often receives letter bombs, suggesting that someone has tried to blow up the station on purpose.
The station is an obvious reference to Rockstar Games, the creators of the Grand Theft Auto series. The DJ's name references both GTA creator Sam Houser and Rockstar.
