Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) are elite paramilitary tactical units of many law-enforcement agencies. In the Grand Theft Auto series, they first appeared in Grand Theft Auto 2, and they appeared in every game up to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. In these games, they are the second Law Enforcement Unit to appear once the player has reached a three-star wanted level.
