Scuba diving is an activity in Grand Theft Auto V. According to a recent preview, it can be performed anytime by the player, it can be used to get to hidden items in shipwrecks and other places underwater. Each individual character has his own lung capacity however if it's too low then with the use of scuba suit the player will probably have an oxygen tank. Many of the shipwrecks contain hidden items  and upon finding them the player will be given a reward.

Also according to the same preview, some boats will be equipped with scuba diving equipment.
