I play GTA San Andreas a lot, and the five-second delay seems more like ten seconds. Can someone look into this?--Montybrady 06:59, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Weapon or gear?

I think the car bomb is more of a weapon than a gear, since it can destroy one or more vehicles with a single explosion. In addition, this bomb function in a similar way to Sticky bombs. What's your opinion? Weapon or gear? EagleIcon AndreEagle17 PS3 Triangle PS3 Cross PS3 Circle 19:10, June 4, 2015 (UTC)

In automobiles a "gear" refers to any of the possible settings of the "gearbox". Gears can be selected using a "gear lever" (or in rare cases buttons). The purpose of a gearbox is to enable a vehicle to be operated at a wide range of different speeds, while the internal combustion engine is always kept operating at, or close to, optimal revolutions per minute. Vehicles that use other types of engines don't necessarily have a gearbox.1 2 3
The "car bomb" is a device that may be added to a vehicle as a customization. By definition it's an explosive self destruct device that's intended to destroy the vehicle. None of the car bomb devices in any GTA have anything to do with gears.
English is not my first language, but as far as I can understand, there is no sane way to define the car bomb as a gear. Considering it's only function, it can only be defined as some type of instrument of destruction. Within the GTA wiki it would make sense to list it among weapons. By saying gear I mean Equipment. EagleIcon AndreEagle17 PS3 Triangle PS3 Cross PS3 Circle 20:03, June 4, 2015 (UTC)
Then make it say "equipment". GMRE (talk) 17:29, June 5, 2015 (UTC)
