IdentificationThis is very clearly a T-34, not a T-72. If you're looking for a more specific model, it's probably a T-34-85, as identified on IGCD. Corkeyandpals (talk) 00:23, November 5, 2013 (UTC)
Thank godness someone fixed it ((user:Swedishfalloutpootis/swedishfalloutpootis))
Location of the DT
I can't seem to find the Degtyaryov DT which the article states to be mounted on the tank.
Only thing indicating of an automatic weapon is on the photo I included (see below)
Is that the one people are referring to as a Degtyaryov? In that case, should I upload it to the T-34 wiki page? If not, where is the DT on the tank?
Why does this page exist?
Change Title From T-34 to T-34-85?
After looking over the page, I have found that this page should specifically mentioned the tank to be a T-34-85. I'm personally a big tank guy who knows a lot on the subject. The tank in GTA V closely resembles a T-34-85 for mutiple reasons: the T-34-85 uses an 85mm D-5T gun, which is longer then the 76mm gun on a normal T-34. The 85mm gun which is used on the T-34-85 is present on the tank in the game unlike the 76mm which is not. Also, the turret is bigger than one on a T-34, this is due to crews in soviet tanks having a hard time moving around the turret section of the tank. In reponse to this, a bigger turret was designed and placed on new T-34 tanks going into production during the time, inculding the T-34-85. Furthermore, the T-34-85 is a totally seperate tank from the T-34.
To be historically accurate, I believe that the page should be changed to be a T-34-85 and not a T-34. I thought that I should mention this before editing the page.
What do you guys think? Should the page be changed or not? If some believe that it should, I wouldn't mind changing the page myself, however, if some find that it shouldn't, I'll just add some trivia info based on the facts previously stated instead. ApacheAH-64A (talk) 03:39, April 21, 2015 (UTC)
- Personally, I'd say it's fine the way it is. This isn't a tank wiki, it's a GTA wiki. Listing it by its general model rather than its specific variant is fine with me. Although by all means mention the variant on the page. My two cents.--Leigh Burne (talk) 08:18, April 21, 2015 (UTC)
