This page was added from GrandTheftWiki, I thought this classifcation of canons within the series make alot of sense and therefore was useful adding to GTA Wiki. While I have changed alot of mentions of "GTA III Era" and "GTA IV Era" to "3D Era" and "HD Era" around the wiki, I decided that after seeing this info that calling them "universes" would make more sense. I apologise if anyone finds this whole Universe/Era thing confusing, but this page should clear things up.
Care to explain why this is marked as deletion?
I didn't know it was against the rules to copy pages from other wikis, so sorry for any inconviences there. If the page must be deleted because of that, so be it. However, it the text within the page can be changed around (as well if the info presented here is considered useful), I don't see why it can't stay up.
With all the talk about Eras being different from Universes, why are there no distinct pages for Eras? Every Era link redirects to the corresponding Universe in which it is grouped. Also the overall Eras category page is empty. If these pages are not going to be created separately, then maybe either the discussion of Eras should be eliminated, or Eras should be mentioned in the pages for their respective Universes. k1darkknight (talk) 20:56, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
- Before the release of GTA V it was believed that each numbered game denoted the start of an era, but since GTA V it has been confirmed that each "era" is denoted by the graphics (i.e. 3D Universe and HD Universe as opposed to GTA III Era and GTA IV Era) and is why each city features "X (3D Universe)" as opposed to "X in GTA III Era". However, on some pages, especially minor ones which may have been neglected for a while, the term "era" may still be present. That may explain why the Eras category is empty, as it is redundant but no-one has got round to deleting it. Sam Talk 22:29, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
