For a lot of car obsessed folks like myself and the hardworking editors of the GTA Wiki, GTA's vehicles are a big draw. The game's cars are fun for motorheads because they're very rarely totally original creations; most of them are based on one or more other real life vehicles. This give GTA/car fans an opportunity to flex their car design knowledge against one another, and play spot the reference. Special thanks to GTA Wiki Admin JBanton and the other GTA car fans for all their hard work grabbing assets for the game's new cars and writing such in-depth descriptions!
Here's some of our current favorites:
A Grand Touring sports luxury car, the Khamelion is one of the game's more unique vehicles, pulling its design cues from almost 9 other vehicles. Some of the donor cars include: Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati GranTurismo, and the super obscure Exagon Furtive eGT (don't worry, I hadn't heard of it either).
A loving tribute to the generally unloved fourth generation Mitsubishi Eclipse, with a touch of Audi TT in the rear. Overly practical Japanese sports car at its finest.
The Gauntlet is a straight up clone of the current generation Chevrolet Camaro, though it shares its side profile with the current generation Dodge Challenger. Neo muscle car lovers unite!
What's not to love about a massive old tank of a truck? The Wiki description mentions this vehicle's similarity to the Kaiser Jeep M715, another vehicle I never knew existed!
The 9F is another uber sports car. This model shares some design similarities with the Audi R8, though the quad taillights are more in line with a Bugatti Veyron or Noble M600. Either way, it's fast and has a convertible top, which really helps reduce the pain when you're ejected from the thing.
The Vapid Dominator is a muscle car based heavily on the fifth generation Ford Mustang. From the headlights to the overall fastback bodyshape, it's pure Mustang. As a result, it's a way more suitable choice for FoMoCo fans than the GM/Mopar themed Gauntlet.
