Well, Rockstar recently confirmed that Darkel and his missions were removed a few months before 9/11, not because of 9/11. So Donald Love's disappearance couldn't have had anything to do with 'Love Hurts'. I highly doubt that mission, along with the rest of Darkel's and Curtly's missions ever existed. There is no real evidence these missions ever existed, someone just made them up. Their names also sound weak to me compared to the rest of the mission names in the game, I doubt they are real. Rockstar also mentioned that none of Darkel's missions involved blowing up school busses full of children so I assume that these 'terrorist' like missions never existed. Just wanted to clear some things up as we finally have proof now. The GTA III missions listed on the Deleted Missions page are also fake. I digged as far on the games history I could and never found anything about them. People claiming to know anything about them or owning beta versions of the game are lying.
Sorry if I removed one of your edits but there is clear evidence now. If you haven't read it yet, scroll through Rockstar Games' Newswire and look for 'GTA III Asked and Answered' or something like that.
