Vehicle Statistics in GTA IV

Vehicle statistics refer to the information and attributes unique to a specific make and model of the fiction vehicles found in GTA IV. Note not all vehicles have full statistics as of yet. Vehicle statistics include:


Manufacturer is the fictional company that produces the vehicle. Fiction badges of the manufacturer, or make, and model can be found on most vehicles.


A vehicles buoyancy refers to how it reacts to water. A more buoyant vehicle will float better and will sink at a slower rate, allowing a driver and passenger to get out. But it also means it is easier to lose the vehicle to the waves near say, a beach.


Mass is how heavy the vehicle weighs, and the we ight affects many traits of a vehicle, including acceleration, top speed, handeling, and sometimes how much resistance to the environment it has. It just as importantly affects how much damage it can do to something/someone in a crash.

Stat Value

When a vehicle is destroyed, the stat value of the respective vehicle is added to the "Total Vehicles Destroyed" stat in the game.

Top Speed

The top speed of a vehicle is the fastest it can go under its own power. After the top speed is reached, only positive enviromental factors (such as a downhill slope) can make it go faster.


Acceleration of a vehicle is another way of saying how fast can it go to a certain speed (we use 0-100km/h) from a stop.


Brakes are very important in a vehicle, because it is the safest way of stopping it. A vehicle that brakes well means that it can go from speed to a stop. We calculate braking by how powerful the brakes are in stopping a vehicle.


The suspension of a vehicle affects the acceleration and braking of a vehicle because it directly affects weight distribution and grip. It also directly affects the ride quality of a vehicle. But most importantly it affects the handeling and emergency handeling of a vehicle, which is crucial in the world of GTA IV.


The drive of a vehicle tells you which wheels spin. Vehicles may be Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD), Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) or All-Wheel-Drive. With all wheel drive, some vehicles may not have symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive. Some may be rear or front biased.


The number of gears affects a vehicles acceleration and top speed. The gears start out as fast accelerating but low top speed to low accelerating but the top speed of the vehicle.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

ABS is a very important system where the system rapidly pumps the brakes to prevent locking. When the brakes lock, the vehicle is almost impossible to turn, and in low grip environment increases stopping distances.

Turning Circle

The turning circle means how much can a vehicle turn in degrees.

Deformation Resistance

This means how well the body of a vehicle resists to physical abuse from collisions. This can affect the vehicle performance if a vital area (such as the axle or suspension) of a vehicle is damaged.

Collision Resistance

Collision resistance is directly related to deformation resistance. A vehicle with a high collision resistance means it can take many hard crashes before the engine dies, or worst, it catches fire.

Weapon Resistance

How well a vehicle resists weapon fire, more specifically how much weapon fire can it take before exploding. Almost all vehicles share an identical value for this field.

Engine Durability

How durable the engine is to damage. The more the better. An engine that has taken too much damage will either die out (where as it needs to be restarted again) or catch fire.
