In The Balled of Gay Tony, the new playlist can be heard inside Bahama Mamas nightclub, but at the beginning of the radio track, the first advert announces that the radio is "direct from Hove Beach". When Grand Theft Auto IV is updated by the downloadable version of The Ballad of Gay Tony, the station alternates between a program of World Beat/Eastern European pop music and one of western European dance music. Vladivostok FM is based on WNYZ-LP in New York City. In 2007, WNYZ-LP transitioned from a Russian Top 40 program to a dance music station named Pulse 87, similar to how Vladivostok changed from playing purely Russian music to house music.

DJ: DJ Paul Martin, a British DJ, who spins live from Bahamas Mamas. He is possibly the first radio DJ seen in person in the GTA saga's history, in the mission Boulevard Baby. DJ Paul is an actual London, England club DJ and has been spinning since 2001. It undergoes a very radical reformatting and loses Russian influence - it now plays house/dance music, mostly by artists from New York and London with some Dutch and French.

Rockstar confirmed through the Kotaku website that some songs were going to be removed from Grand Theft Auto IV due to licensing restrictions, in particular a large portion of Vladivostok FM. However, they would be replacing some of the songs with a new set of songs. The removal of them occured on April 26, 2018. Vladivostok FM is a radio station featured in Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City that plays Eastern European music of all genres.

Description

The station is hosted by Ruslana Lyzhychko (DJ Paul in TBoGT) and is named after the Russian city of Vladivostok.

In GTA IV, the station plays Russian versions of Excelsior Extreme 9, The Horn Deodorant and Whiz Wireless commercials. However, in Episodes from Liberty City disc version, Vladivostok FM is completely commercial free.

It is one of the preferred stations of Niko Bellic, Roman Bellic, Michelle, Oleg Minkov, Dimitri Rascalov, Vladimir Glebov, Mikhail Faustin and The Faustin/Rascalov Mafiya.

Deleted Songs

According to the soundtrack disc of the station and an interview with Ruslana, the following songs were meant to appear, but were cut for reasons unknown:

 • Max Lorens – "Схожу с ума" (Shozhu s uma / Going Crazy) (2008)
 • Quest Pistols – "Мама" (Mama / Mother) (2007)
 • Dyshi – "Взгляни на небо" (Vzglyani na nebo / Look on the Sky) (2006)
 • Bi-2 - "Полковнику никто не пишет" (Polkovniku nikto ne pishet / No One Writes to the Colonel) (2000)
 • T9 - "Ода нашей любви" (Oda nashei lyubvi / Ode To Our Love) (2007) (Found only in the original US release as well as the digital releases)[1][2][3]

The following two songs were requested and approved to be in the The Ballad of Gay Tony, however for whatever reason it didn't make the cut:

10th anniversary

Rockstar confirmed through the Kotaku website that some songs were going to be removed from Grand Theft Auto IV due to licensing restrictions, in particular a large portion of Vladivostok FM. However, they would be replacing some of the songs with a new set of songs. The removal of them occured on April 26, 2018[6]. However, physical copies of the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions are unaffected and have not been patched.
