To pop a wheelie, press and hold the left dialog stick back. Holding the stick too far back will cause the player character to lose balance and fall off the bike. The longer one holds the wheelie, the larger the monetary bonus. It's generally a good idea to get up some speed first, then lift and stop speeding.
This maneuver can be done in all main installments of the series from Vice City onwards, specifically: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, and Grand Theft Auto V.
The following are motorcycles that can pop a wheelie:
- Bati 800
- Bati Custom
- Carbon RS
- Double T
- Double T Custom
- Hakuchou Custom
- Pizza Boy
- Police Bike
- Money; the longer the wheelie, the more money is rewarded
- Holding a wheelie for at least 30 seconds in the PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will unlock the "One is Better Than Two" Trophy.
- Holding a wheelie for at least 500 feet in Grand Theft Auto IV will unlock the "Wheelie Rider" achievement.
